The Daily Express reports: "David Cameron suffered a historic defeat over Europe last night as MPs voted for the EU’s runaway budget to be slashed." It noted, "In a clear message to Brussels, MPs – including 51 Tory rebels – demanded a real-terms cut in the European Commission’s next spending pot."
Bill Cash was quoted as saying, “The money comes from the taxpayer, it doesn’t grow on trees – that’s what [the commission] don’t understand.”
