The Daily Telegraph reports: "The EU's Customs Committee has voted almost unanimously in favour of reclassifying the scooters – which have until now been exempt from tax – meaning they will be subject to import duty at a rate of 10 per cent."
Consequently, "Charities which buy the scooters for disabled people say the move means thousands of people every year will lose out on the chance of having one of the scooters because they will be able to afford fewer of them." Read the article here.
