Sir Bill Cash MP

Bill Cash has been a Conservative Member of Parliament since 1984 and has represented the Stone constituency since 1997.
Bill was born in London on 10 May 1940 and grew up in Sheffield. He was educated at Stonyhurst College and Lincoln College, Oxford where he read History. After qualifying as a solicitor in 1967, he practised constitutional and administrative law. Find out more here. He is Chairman of the European Scrutiny Committee, having been a member of the Committee since 1985, and was elected Chairman in 2010.

Margarida Vasconcelos
Research Director
Margarida Vasconcelos has a degree in law from Coimbra University, Portugal. She has been with the Foundation for 11 years, and has great experience analysing EU policies and legislation. She has written countless articles, including for the European Journal, and has conducted many research projects, including analysis, article by article, of the Lisbon Treaty. She received her Masters in European Law at the London Metropolitan University, and worked at the European Parliament for two years before starting at the Foundation in March 2007.

Emily Law is an English/Italian (bilingual) Law graduate (LLB Law with Legal Studies in Europe), graduating First Class from the University of Reading in July 2017, ranked in the top three in Law for her year. As part of her degree she spent a year in the Netherlands at Maastricht University, studying International, European and Comparative Law. Her research focuses on the history and evolution of EU Law, EU Administrative Law, UK Constitutional Law and Legal Theory in the context of Brexit.
