Last May, Jose Manuel Barroso said “Nobody wants to leave the euro, others are waiting to join.” However, the numbers speak for themselves. According to a recent poll carried out by AS Emor 50% of Estonians oppose the adoption of the Euro whilst 40% support it. Moreover, the poll has found that 59% of Estonian population want to have a referendum to decide whether Estonia should adopt the Euro.
There is also an Ipsos poll which shows that 51% Germans want the Deutschmark back. The Danish people also do not want the Euro, as 59.8% would say no if there was a referendum tomorrow.
