The Daily Mail reports: “Details of a 'referendum lock' to prevent more powers being handed to Brussels without the British people having a say will be published today.”
Bill Cash was quoted as saying "Talk of a referendum lock is just milk and water – it is a million miles away from what is required.
We were promised a Sovereignty Act in our manifesto and that is what is needed and what the British people deserve. We are told there will be a referendum if there is any further transfer of powers, but we are already seeing the transfer of powers and there is no referendum."
Bill
I was first alerted to the evils of the EU when you spoke to an AGM of the MHEA at the Welcombe Hotel near Stratford (?) around 1994 and since then I have got deeper and deeper involved in the anti-EU cause. Since then, of course, we have lost virtually all of our Sovereignty and if we don’t manage to get a referendum soon, then we are truly lost. However, I don’t see this R-lock as being what is needed and it is surely a sop or a trap, and I wonder what your views and position on this are. Cameron, Hague & Co, with Maude and Clarke in the background, are a bunch of liars, so how can they be defeated?
Kind regards
